As part of the ‘Disaster-Ready University’ initiative, the ‘Disaster Awareness Training’ session, organised by the Bartın Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management to help foster individuals who are aware of and prepared for disasters, took place on 3 March 2026 in the Library Building Conference Hall, with the participation of our faculty’s students and staff.
During the training delivered by staff from the Bartın Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management, participants were provided with comprehensive information on individual preparedness for disasters and emergencies, precautions to be taken before a disaster, appropriate behaviour during a disaster, and actions to be taken after a disaster. The importance of raising public awareness and understanding of disasters was also emphasised during the training.
During the programme, which was followed with great interest by the participants, it was emphasised that the ability to make correct and swift decisions in disaster situations is of vital importance, and it was noted that raising students to become disaster-aware individuals would make a significant contribution to societal resilience. Certificates of attendance were awarded to the students and staff who participated in the training programme.
